At TuffStuff Workwear, some products are age restricted (e.g., Leatherman multi-tools, Buck and Opinel knives, and similar bladed items). By law, these items can only be sold to customers aged 18 or over.
Why do I need to verify my age?
Under the Criminal Justice Act 1988, it’s an offence to sell bladed articles to anyone under 18.
“Bladed articles” include any knife, knife blade, razor blade, axe, or other article with a blade or sharp point made or adapted to cause injury. This includes multi-tools.

If your Age Check doesn’t pass
Double-check that your full name, address, and date of birth exactly match the information held by national data sources (e.g., your bank).
If you have limited or no data trail (for example, no credit history), the automated check may not find a match.
How many attempts do I get?
You’ll have three attempts to complete the automated age check.
Manual verification (if needed)
If you still can’t pass after three attempts, email [email protected] with a photo of your passport or driving licence so we can verify you manually. We’ll confirm next steps promptly.
Shipping & Delivery for Age-Restricted Items
Due to UK legal requirements, age-restricted items must be delivered using a specialist age-verified delivery service.
Because of this:
Age-restricted products are exempt from free UK delivery offers
These items must be shipped using a delivery method that includes age verification upon delivery
The recipient may be required to show valid photo ID at the point of delivery
If your order includes both restricted and non-restricted items, the entire order may be sent using the age-verified delivery service.
These measures ensure we remain fully compliant with UK law and that restricted items are delivered safely and responsibly.
